Abstract
Standard demand profiles are crucial elements of various design
procedures in transport planning and traffic engineering. Current
practise describes their dynamics with independent daily, weekly and
yearly profiles, which causes substantial biases, especially for Mondays
and Fridays. In addition current practise works with profiles which are
averaged across the both directions, removing further detail. As part
of the development of new Swiss standard profiles, these choices were
reconsidered.
