Research

The Traffic Engineering Research Group focuses in the study of road traffic both in inter-urban corridors and urban networks. This can include:

1. collection of traffic data (using SVT's own laser measuring system, measuring posts, radar sensors for vehicle detection, or other non-proprietary tools);
2. development of traffic models (with the aid of microscopic or macroscopic cutting-edge techniques);
   
3. simulation of traffic (with either commercial simulators such as VISSIM or other in-house developed simulation software);
   
4. evaluation of traffic performance; and
   
5. recommendation of strategic and pragmatic solutions to improve the overall performance of transportation systems.
